Lead consultant needed to develop leading carbon reduction consultancy

We are looking for a lead carbon consultant to help our small innovative consultancy grow. As part of our team you will develop business across our suite of products and services and will have a real opportunity to shape the way in which climate change is addressed in the UK as you work with our clients to reduce their carbon emissions.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with business acumen and demonstrable project wins in the public and private sectors, someone that can use their entrepreneurial skills, in-depth knowledge of the market and existing contact network to identify and seize new business opportunities. You will be expected to write proposals to secure new consulting contracts as well as develop existing client relationships.

The candidate

The successful applicant will have a proven track record of delivering high quality projects on time and on budget. You will be a self motivated, with a methodical approach, attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Along with a high level of numeracy, report writing skills and advanced computing skills in Excel, Access and Word. You will have a background in data gathering, manipulation and interrogation and be able to draw robust conclusions and innovative recommendations from this work. You will be a key team player used to dynamic team working and must have excellent interpersonal skills.

The ideal candidate will have an MSc and/or recognised energy-related qualification and five years relevant experience. An in-depth understanding of the economic, commercial and regulatory drivers for our client is essential including European, national and local regulation, best practice and funding opportunities across buildings, energy generation and transport. Also, detailed technical knowledge specialist areas such as CHP and district heating.

Analysis underpinning Friends of the Earth Get Serious Campaign, South East Regional Carbon Reduction Study, Carbon Reduction Pathways for Five Core Cities, South West Carbon Reduction Pathway Analysis, South Bank Employers Group Energy Audits, Islington Climate Change Partnership Supporting Large Emitters, feasibility research projects such as biogas potential and PV optimisation.
